This fascinating monument was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife who passed away after giving birth to their 14th child in the year 1631. Her death affected the Emperor so much that built this enormously elegant and beautiful Mausoleum to dedicate his everlasting love to his late wife Mumtaz.
Taj Mahal stands atop a marble platform situated at the north end of the ornamental gardens while facing its back to the Yamuna River. The captivating minarets with a height of 40m grace the world from each corner of the marble platform.

This magnanimous monument was built from pale yellow along with pink sandstone, and white marble. This fort has an extensively designed palace complex and is divided into four head sections with its attached courtyard.
You can travel by road which would take 10 minutes or book a 4WD to the fort and back for ₹450.
As you enter the inner complex, the Maharaja’s Apartments would be situated around the third courtyard where you enter through the magnificent Ganesh Pol decorated with flawless frescoed arches. Next on the way, Jai Mandir is a notable monument known for its inner panels and the gorgeous multi-mirrored ceiling. This magnificent Fort was founded by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, this master piece took a full 10 years to complete and is surrounded with 18m high wall to fortify the property. There is a rumor about decapitated corpses of prisoners being built inside the constructions of its base for ushering luck.
Shah Jahan didn’t make this Fort his base and residence because of his doppelganger son Aurangzeb who imprisoned him in the Agra Fort.
The royal marvel has red stone walls and the most interesting thing is its texture that still persists till date.
